Whole Grain Waffles


2 eggs, beaten
1 3/4 cups skim milk
1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla extract


1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/2 cup flax seed meal
1/4 cup wheat germ
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt



Mix together wet ingredients; sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to wet, stir well. Bake in waffle iron.

Serve with blueberry syrup.

yummy! I love waffles! i recently had an adventure grinding fresh wheat to make flour. used it to make waffles, best waffles EVER!! btw how is the chili honey you were telling me about? I would assume it isn't spicy...right?

Georgia, the red chile honey we get at the Farmers Market IS spicy. I prefer to have it while drinking iced tea, because drinking coffee at the same time just makes my mouth too hot!
