Baked Custard

3 slightly beaten eggs
1/4 cup brown sugar (you may use white, if you wish)
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine eggs, sugar, and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla.

Set six custard cups in a shallow baking pan. Pour the egg mixture into them. Pour hot water around them in the baking pan, to a depth of about 1 inch.

Place the baking pan in a preheated 325 oven. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until a sharp knife inserted in the custard comes out clean.  Remove cups from pan to cool.

For one large custard, bake in a one-quart casserole for about 60 minutes or until done.

I have never been good at making custard. This looks easy. I will try it. Happy Mother's Day to the mom!
