The Remodeled Kitchen

My roommate Brian told me that the redone kitchen looked as though one of those home makeover shows stopped in during the week that he was gone. I only wish I'd taken "before" pictures. I used to refer to the kitchen as "the closet in the bathroom". There was only room for one person, it was dark, it was stuffy, and you really did have to go through the bathroom to use it. Well, I opened up the other entrance (that had been closed off) and changed the whole thing, from the walls to the floor to the counters to the cabinets. It's still tiny, but it's a lot more functional:

I also painted my recipe box the same "slate teal" color of the countertop.

The kitchen is gorgeous. I hope that Brian can find some "before" photos soon--can't wait to compare!

WOW! Congrats! Heck, I have before pictures in my mind! That is awesome. If I ever want to do a make-over on my house, I'm calling you!

This is just an amazing makeover. You ought to be on HGTV! I love the black and white floor and the blue.

If only I had the technical skill...

My dear Benny, this is Auntie Bucksnort writing from your mom's computer.

I love what you did with your kitchen and I thank you for all the creative solutions for maximizing space. I'm going to be moving into a tiny house with an even tinier kitchen and I'm going to use your beautiful new kitchen as inspiration. Thanks again.

p.s. I see you use Baleine Salt. I use the blue one in my kitchen! Well... actually.... as belt-tightening measures have been known to occur now and then, I've resorted to buying cheap bulk salt and refilling my stylin' blue whale shaker again and again. Confession: I think it's probably the same one I had in Berzerkeley when you came to visit.
